Celebrate Women's Equality Day

89 years of women's right to vote deserve a little celebration. Miami Beach Mayor Matti Herrera and Commissioner Deedee Weithorn thought so too and put together an event in the Miami Beach Botanical garden this Wednesday, August 26th.
Activities on the schedule are:
3pm: Children create suffragette artifacts such as banners, buttons, and sashes
4pm: Children recreate suffragette march on city hall with Mayor Herrera Bower and Commissioner Weithorn
6pm "Small" (budget is tight) Reception
7pm: Film Screening "Iron Jawed Angels": Defiant young activists take the women's suffrage movement by storm, putting their lives at risk to help American women win the right to vote.

Of course, it's all free! RSVP to anneswanson@miamibeachfl.gov recommended.

Where: Miami Beach Botanical Garden
2000 Convention Center Drive
Miami Beach, FL 33139
